Alice in Wonderland
A 15 piece collection to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's novel. For this, I thank Carl Jenks for special permission for a photo-shoot at The Garden of Cosmic Speculation, Dumfries, Scotland, with my grand-daughter as the model for Alice.
Alice's Looking Glass 1
The premise for my Alice Collection is that Alice finds her way into Wonderland via her reflection on a soap bubble. This a metaphor that through meditation and personal introspection, we can reach our own inner wonderland.
The model, Lily, enjoying the exhibition in North Ayrshire 2015.
Just out of reach
In my understanding, Wonderland is more fluid than 3D reality and have swapped between acrylic and oil paint to allow a freer, looser style to develop using palette knives.

Tea with the mad hatter
Alice finds herself at a Tea Table with a scary characters. I have depicted Alice as somewhat wary of the looming, gesticulating but somewhat ridiculous Hatter.
