Alice's world acrylic on canvas.jpg

Just out of Reach

One of my Alice Through the Looking Glass collection, using my eldest granddaughrter as the model for Alice. Acyrlic painting.

Wavw Form 1.JPG

Wave Form 3

Mixed Media with upcycled sea glass and acrylic.

An evocative oil-rendering of woody stems refracted through water in a glass vase. The stems are often overlooked or hidden: I wanted to bring the beauty of water to magnify what is usually unseen.

Bluebell Wood

A huge canvas in Oils, escape to the forest and immerse in the yellows of Spring.

I love the perspective of lying beneath the trees with the bluebells dancing in the breeze.

bluebell bliss.jpg

Bluebell Bliss

2018 series of paintings of woodland. The dreamiest carpet has to be the swaying bluebells in May. Oil palette knife.

Argyll in Winter

Palette knife oil painintg of ice on West Loch Tarbert,

Smiling Child

Sometimes an image so grabs my attention that I'm compelled to paint it: My middle-granddaughter closing her eyes to show off her artistically applied eyeshadow. This is also my first portrait in oil. I love the crisp texture of her platinum curls: a mixture of brush, palette knife and scrape-through technique.

Arran Sunset.JPG

Arran Sunset

One of my numerous sunsets over the mystical Isle of Arran, that iconic view of Ayrshire.

Stay on the Path

Fantasy art of Red Riding Hood's encounter with the wolf. I rather think the wolf is such a winning beast that I can fully understand why the girl lets her curiousity get the better of her! Oil painting.
